A company that makes fresh pre-packaged food for convenience stores is moving into a larger location in the New Orleans area.
Freshy Foods, which opened in 2009, said Monday that growth is prompting it to operate from a larger facility in the Elmwood Business Park in Harahan.
Plans call for the federally approved plant to distribute its food in 15 states. The company produces pre-packaged sandwiches, salads, wraps, hoagies, fruit cups and deserts.
Freshy Foods also said the new location will allow it to be closer to its distributors, including Imperial Trading Co., McLane Co. Inc. and Lyons Specialty Co.
