In order to fight the freeze, we asked you to share your tactics for staying warm using #StayWarmTODAY on Twitter and Facebook. 

"I remember my mom telling me about boiling Idaho potatoes for the children, then putting them in their coat pockets," Janet Johnson wrote on the TODAY Facebook page. "As the children walked to school they kept their hands in the pockets to help them stay warm. When they got to school, they could eat the warm potatoes!"
