Sen. Marco Rubio says he's "pleased" with his performance in Thursday's prime-time GOP debate — and remains confident that the nominating process will result in the selection of a suitable candidate.
"I have confidence that the Republican nominee is going to be a Republican," the senator told TODAY's Matt Lauer Friday when asked about fellow candidate Donald Trump. "I have confidence in this process."

Thursday's prime-time debate, featuring the 10 highest-polling candidates, included several contentious moments as the candidates jockeyed for airtime.
In an earlier debate between the remaining seven candidates, former HP chief Carly Fiorina generated considerable buzz after taking aim at Hillary Clinton, as well as members of her own party.
