Life well lived: Clarence Beavers, part of first all-black US paratrooper unit, dies at 96

During World War II, Clarence Beavers was part of the 555th Parachute Infantry Battalion, also known as the Triple Nickles, the United States Army’s first all-black paratrooper unit. The last living member of the groundbreaking team, Beavers died earlier this month at the age of 96.
