The U.S. skier dedicated the bronze she won in the women’s super combined slalom to her grandfather, who died a year ago.
“After I won that first downhill, it was just him in my ear saying how proud of me,” she told TODAY on Tuesday. “I knew I just had to go out and ski with my heart and do my best for him, so thanks Grandpa.”
Mancuso faced high expectations to medal, but she said she didn't mind the pressure. “I thrive off the atmosphere and the love from my hometown and my family and it’s just been awesome.” Watch the video here.
