"Margaritaville" singer Jimmy Buffett was released from an Australian hospital on Thursday, a day after falling off the stage during a concert in Sydney, his official website said.
"Jimmy has been released from the hospital and is doing well," said a brief statement on margaritaville.com.
In video footage obtained by U.S. celebrity website TMZ.com, the 64 year-old singer is seen stepping off the front of the stage at Sydney's Hordern Pavilion and plummeting to the concrete floor.
Dr. Gordian Fulde, head of the emergency department at St Vincent's Hospital in Sydney, said Buffett "really took a very nasty tumble."
"He just didn't see the drop in front of the stage," Fulde, who was at the concert on Wednesday, told Australia's Seven Network.
"I heard the crack and I thought this guy has broken his neck. He had a head injury and he lost consciousness ... (but) scans show that he's OK," Fulde added.
Buffett has released over 30 albums and has been touring since the late 70s. He is known for a country folk and island musical style which includes hit songs "Margaritaville" and "Cheeseburger in Paradise." Both songs are also the names of two restaurant chains which he owns or licenses.
Buffett also has his own satellite radio channel on Sirius XM called Radio Margaritaville.
Buffett is scheduled to play a concert in Auckland, New Zealand on Saturday, but it was not immediately clear if the event would go ahead.
