The documentary about Derek Jeter's pursuit of career hit No. 3,000, with the shortstop wearing a microphone during the game when he reached the milestone, will premiere July 28.

Major League Baseball Productions followed the Yankees captain for a one-hour HBO special called "Derek Jeter 3K." Jeter agreed to let camera crews film him at home and while he was rehabilitating a calf injury. He also was miked in-game for the first time in his career.

The documentary includes new interviews with family, friends and teammates, including Jeter's girlfriend, Minka Kelly, and Yankees managing general partner Hal Steinbrenner.

Jeter reached 3,000 on July 9 with a home run, going 5 for 5.
