It's a simple message, repeated earnestly.

Jennifer Aniston, Sofia Vergara, Spike Lee and Amy Schumer have joined President Obama in a new public service announcement with one simple message: "We can end gun violence."

During the nearly 4-minute video (the full version can be viewed here), what we hear again and again in carefully-edited chunks is that one phrase, spoken by celebrities, survivors of gun violence, victims' families and other gun control advocates.

There's also a link that lets viewers know how they can add their voices to the video, and incorporates some celebrity cameos from a similar video released in 2012.

The campaign was put together by the nonprofit Everytown for Gun Safety, which calls itself "a movement of Americans working together to end gun violence and build safer communities."

Everytown was formed in 2014, and at its core are three other groups: Mayors Against Illegal Guns and Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America and the Everytown Survivor Network.

Its advisory board includes former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg, singer Warren Buffett and current Philadelphia mayor Michael Nutter.
