TODAY's Jenna Bush Hager expressed confidence that her grandfather, former President George H.W. Bush, will recover just fine from a fall that caused him to break a bone his neck.

"He's doing okay," she said Thursday on TODAY. "He’s not the typical 91-year-old. He jumped out of a plane, so I think he can manage a minor neck injury."

The former president, who uses a wheelchair because he has a form of Parkinson's disease, broke the bone in a fall Wednesday at his Maine summer home.

Earlier Thursday, Jenna sent out a tweet thanking everyone for all the prayers and well wishes her family had received, saying they expected her grandfather to "heal well."

The night before, Bush's spokesman Jim McGrath tweeted that the former president was stable, but will be sporting a neck brace following the accident.
