Fox ruled in prime-time ratings last week, with CBS close behind.
The Nielsen Co. says Fox was powered by three editions of "American Idol," along with its Daytona 500 coverage.
Meanwhile, CBS was supercharged with its slate of dramas, sitcoms and reality shows, commandeering 21 of the week's Top 30 slots.
Overall in prime time, Fox averaged almost 10½ million viewers, followed by CBS with about 10¼ million. ABC and NBC lagged far behind.
As usual, NBC's "Nightly News" topped the evening newscasts.
