Ex-NatureWorks exec named to Tyson Foods board

A former executive in the renewable plastics and chemical industry has been named to the board of directors of Tyson Foods Inc.

A former executive in the renewable plastics and chemical industry has been named to the board of directors of Tyson Foods Inc.

Tyson officials say 60-year-old Kathleen Bader is a new independent director on the board.

She is the former president and chief executive officer of NatureWorks, which makes fibers and packaging materials from renewable resources. Bader also spent more than 30 years with Dow Chemical, holding various management positions in the company's global and North American operations.

The Chicago native holds a bachelor of arts degree from Saint Mary's College of Notre Dame and a master of business administration degree from the University of California-Berkley.

Other members of the Tyson board are chairman John Tyson; Jim Kever; Kevin McNamara; Robert Thurber; Brad Sauer; Barbara Tyson and Albert Zapanta.
