Egg producer Cal-Maine Foods Inc. has named Todd Walters as vice president of operations effective Monday.
Walters takes over the post from David Jenkins, who is retiring at the end of 2011. Walters will oversee production and processing in Texas and report to Chief Operating Officer Sherman Miller. Miller was appointed COO in May.
A Cal-Maine employee since 1997, Walters was general manager for the company's facilities in Rossburg and Union City, Ohio, and has managed operations in New Mexico, Kansas and Mississippi.
Shares of Cal-Maine, based in Jackson, Miss., fell 19 cents to $32.16 in early afternoon trading.
