"Keep him in your prayers."

That's the word from a friend of Greg Giraldo, who tells E! News that the "Last Comic Standing" judge is fighting for his life following a reported accidental drug overdose over the weekend.

The funnyman, known also for his biting rants on Comedy Central's roasts and appearances on Howard Stern's radio show, was scheduled to perform at the Stress Factory Saturday night as part of four-night engagement at the New Brunswick, N.J., comedy club. Instead, he was found unconscious by paramedics at the nearby Hyatt Regency.

Emergency workers managed to resuscitate him, the source tells E! News, and then at about 8:30 p.m., transported him by ambulance to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital.

The comic has been clean and sober for several years now and had been booked to appear Saturday afternoon at the New York Recovery Rally, an event for recovering substance abusers.

Meanwhile, a fellow comic, who is friendly with Giraldo and has performed at the Comedy Cellar in New York with him, said Giraldo had recently split with his wife, Maryann Giraldo. They have three children together.

There has been no immediate word from Giraldo's family. A representative for the comic has declined to comment.
