GAOMI, China (Reuters) - Chinese Nobel Literature Prize winner Mo Yan said on Friday that he hoped the jailed 2010 Nobel Peace Prize winner, Liu Xiaobo, can "achieve freedom soon".

Mo, who was speaking at a press conference in his hometown in northern Shandong province, has come under fire for shying away from commenting on Liu's plight. Liu, jailed in 2009, is serving an 11-year sentence for inciting subversion of state power.
