Calling Broadway stars: Is your child a 'Who'?

Does your child have what it takes to be a 'Who' in the new Dr. Seuss musical 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas!'? If so, here's how to apply.

Is your child a Broadway star? If so, then he/she can audition to be a "Who" in the new Dr. Seuss musical "How the Grinch Stole Christmas!" The classic holiday story is making its debut on Broadway this holiday season and we are now casting one of the "Whos" for the holiday engagement.

Does your child have what it takes to be a "Who"? If he/she wants to make it to Broadway, then you should apply today!

There are special requirements: Participant must be between eight and 14 years of age and no taller than five feet. And you'll need to make a videotape showing his/her talent.

All tapes must be received by August 30. Finalists will be chosen by the Broadway director and finalists will be expected to come to New York City by September 6. All finalists will appear on the "Today" show on September 7 and the winner will by announced live on our show.

PART I: HOW TO APPLY:

Step 1: Make a video tape (only VHS, DVD or mini DV will be accepted) of two (2) minutes or less.

Step 2: Print a copy of the "Are You a Who?" application and complete the form.

Step 3: MAIL THE TAPE , APPLICATION, SNAPSHOT (Photo of your child) and RESUME to us ASAP (if you don't have a resume, just list any voice, theatre, or dance experience that you have had).

What to include in your TWO-MINUTE video tape:
Show us why your child should be a "Who" on Broadway. At the beginning of the tape, state your child's name, age, height and phone number. Show us a quick clip of him/her dancing. If he/she doesn't dance, he/she may do gymnastics. You also need to show us a sample of him/her singing. He/she may sing a song or a part of a song. If you wish, you may include any other special skill or trick that shows us why your child should be a "Who".  Just remember: You must keep the entire tape under two minutes!

Application deadline: All submissions must be received by August 30, 2006. Applications and tapes will not be returned.

PART II:  ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

1. Applicant must be between 8 and 14 years of age and no taller than 5'0".

2. Applicant must be a lawful U.S. resident.

3. Neither the applicant nor any member of his/her immediate family or anyone living in his/her household may be or may have been within the last two (2) years an employee, officer, director or agent of any of the following: (a) NBC Universal, Inc. ("NBC"), its affiliated entities, or any television station owned and  operated by NBC; (b) Mean One Productions, Limited Partnership (c) Running Subway LLC; (d) Any sponsor of the SHOW or Today Show Program or its advertising agency; or (e) Any person or entity supplying prizes or other services to the SHOW or Today Show Program.

In addition, Mean One Productions and Running Subway LLC (collectively, "Producer") and NBC each reserve the right to render ineligible any person whom any of them determines, in its sole discretion, is sufficiently connected with the production, administration, judging, or distribution of the SHOW or Today Show Program, such that his or her participation in the Show could create the appearance of impropriety.

4. If selected as a participant your child must execute employment agreements, waivers and release agreements required by the Producer and NBC or any of their licensees, successors or assigns.

5. If chosen, your child must be in New York City on September 6 and 7 for the live auditions on the Today Show. Your child will be given very short notice to arrive in New York City. Additionally, if your child is selected to be in the cast, he/she will need to be available to the production from September 25, 2006 - January 7th, 2007 and reside in NYC or vicinity during that time.
