Last Saturday, a 19-year-old "Breaking Bad" fan with terminal brain cancer got to talk with the star of his favorite show.

The Skype chat between actor Bryan Cranston and 19-year-old Brad Joyner was the culmination of a viral campaign started six months ago by Joyner's friends and family after the North Carolina teen received his diagnosis. Joyner is a longtime fan of the AMC series about a man with terminal cancer who turns into a drug lord. His aunt, a photographer, launched the campaign by taking and posting pictures featuring the #BreakingBrad hashtag wherever she went.

Eventually word got to Mr. "Breaking Bad" himself, and on Sept. 20, Cranston had a Skype chat with Joyner, part of which Joyner's mom, Aimee Pettigrew, posted on YouTube (she also posted the terrific moment where Joyner learned they'd be having that chat).

"He could just really relate to the character with the cancer," Pettigrew said on the video.

The conversation went on for more than a half hour, Pettigrew wrote on Facebook later. She added that Cranston was sending a special present for Joyner: an ice cream truck with treats for the whole neighborhood.

"#GOD is bigger than cancer," Pettigrew wrote.
