Are you constantly adjusting your bra in public? Do you want undies that are both comfortable and supportive? With that in mind, Cindy Johnson of SOL Lingerie offers three tips to help women avert some of the biggest bra blunders.
Dilemma #1: Slipping straps
Are you always pulling at bra straps? If so, this means one of two things. Either your bra is too big, or it is old and stretched out. This results in the straps always falling off, which means your chest is not getting any lift. The solution is to get your hands on a great fitting bra where the band is comfortably snug. This keeps the bra in place and prevents the straps from falling off.
Dilemma #2: Not enough support
Does your bra not offer enough in the support department? If this is a problem for you, your bra may have one of two issues. First, it could be too big around your back. Also, it may be likely the wrong style of bra. A bra cup that has lace and seaming can be very helpful for bigger-chested gals, as opposed to a smooth style of bra that offers less support. Your bust should hit the dart on your shirt, which makes your waist look longer and more like an hourglass.
Dilemma #3: Wrinkled bra shows through your shirt
If you're tired of seeing the wrinkling of your bra through your shirt, listen up. The issue may be that you’ve changed sizes, but never updated your bra. It may not only be too big, but the fabric on the cup may be worn out. Marie Jo's contoured cup bra offers a great shape and a smooth cup. With this simple swap, you're sure to make those wrinkles disappear. (Eliza by Marie Jo, $135)
