Kate Morris has been named the new executive news director for the Boise-region television station KTVB News Group.
Morris has been an executive producer at KTVB since 2008, overseeing daily newscasts, breaking news reports and special broadcasts.
She succeeds Jim Gilchriest, who became news director of WAVY-WVBT in Hampton Roads, Virginia last month.
KTVB owner Belo Corp. made the announcement this week. Morris is a graduate of Nampa's Vallivue High School and she holds a degree in broadcast journalism from Arizona State University.
