AP ROYAL VISIT COVERAGE ADVISORY
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge bring their North American tour to Southern California on Friday for a weekend of events ranging from a Santa Barbara polo match to a Skid Row visit. The AP plans running coverage in all formats through Sunday. Here's a rundown...
FRIDAY
ROYAL TOUR-CALIFORNIA
LOS ANGELES — The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are coming to Tinseltown, though the trip is no honeymoon for the newlyweds. The royal couple will spend the bulk of their whirlwind weekend promoting British business ties and charitable work, though William and Kate will enjoy a game of polo near seaside Santa Barbara and hobnob with Hollywood royalty at a formal dinner party. And to make sure the highly choreographed visit goes smoothly, LA's notoriously aggressive paparazzi have been put on notice that such tactics will not be tolerated. By Thomas Watkins and Derrik Lang. Developing from the couple's 7 p.m. EDT arrival at LAX, a 7:30 p.m. business conference in Beverly Hills and a 10 p.m. reception at the consul-general's residence.

ROYAL TOUR-KING'S HEAD
SANTA MONICA, Calif. — Anglophiles are planning to gather by the hundreds to celebrate the royal visit at Ye Olde King's Head, a popular British restaurant and pub in Santa Monica, home to one of the country's largest concentrations of transplanted Brits. "We're hoping they might swing by and have a pint with us," jokes manager Lisa Powers. By Thomas Watkins.

SUNDAY
ROYAL TOUR-CALIFORNIA
LOS ANGELES — The royal couple shift to the other end of the city's socio-economic spectrum with a visit to an arts school for the underprivileged on downtown's Skid Row. Later they attend a job fair for war veterans on a studio sound stage in Culver City before catching a late afternoon flight back to Britain. By John Watkins, Christina Hoag and Anthony McCartney. Developing from the 2:30 p.m. EDT Skid Row event, the 4 p.m. job fair and the 6:30 p.m. airport departure.

ROYAL TOUR-FASHION
UNDATED — Much of the attention paid to the royal couple's tightly scripted and widely varied visit to the film capital this weekend will focus on fashion and just who and what the Duchess of Cambridge will be wearing as she circulates from a polo match to Hollywood dinner party to homeless enclave.
