Alex Johnson's proposal to his girlfriend? Call it a slam dunk.

After the Canadian professional basketball player challenged girlfriend Brey Dorsett to a game of one-on-one, he faked an injury and slid to the floor, grabbing his hamstring as he went down. Among the friends who rushed to his side was a buddy who slipped a small black box into Johnson’s hand.

When Dorsett walked up to check on her boyfriend, Johnson rolled up to one knee and proceeded to propose, ring in hand.

A video of the proposal has been viewed more than 2.6 million times since being posted on YouTube last Thursday.

Dorsett said the proposal completely threw off her game.

“I had absolutely no clue,” she explained in a follow-up video the couple made. “He always put in my head, ‘Yeah, we’re not going to get married for another two years.’ So in my mind, that was not even an option at all."

"I just thought we were going to go to the gym and get a workout in and watch him coach his team."
