Aerial skier Emily Cook makes her third attempt for an Olympic medal on Saturday, but her journey to Sochi, Russia, was one she almost abandoned four years ago. She told TODAY's Natalie Morales that her disappointing performance at the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver almost ended her Olympic career.
“Part of me thought there’s so much more to life, but the other part of me knew that I hadn't finished what I started,” she said. “I know that I’m better than 11th place at the Olympic Games.”
The 34-year-old highflying daredevil said this time, she’s enjoying more of the entire experience this time around.
“I know that I’ll be able to walk away, regardless of what happens, feeling satisfied.”
