Victoria's Secret is out: it has a Super Bowl ad this year.
The lingerie retailer today launched an online teaser for its 2015 Super Bowl ad, its first in seven years. The ad features a squad of football-playing "Angels" running a touchdown play. Whether on the "red team" or "white team" all the models are shown in full football padding gear. There's nary a stitch of the brand's product to be seen.
The ad seems to mainly serve as a way to introduce most of the faces, and just the faces, that will star in its real Super Bowl ad during the big game: Adriana Lima, Doutzen Kroes, Lily Aldridge, Behati Prinsloo and Candice Swanepoel. Not shown but also appearing in the eventual ad will be Karlie Kloss.
"Don't drop the ball," reads the on-screen text at the end, "It's not Valentine's Day without Victoria's Secret."
The last time the brand was in the Super Bowl was 2008, also with an ad centered on V-Day.
