We all knew it was coming to this. After watching them grow from 10-year-old tykes to brave teens, romance has finally, truly bloomed in the "Harry Potter" movies. No, Hermione and Ron haven't kissed yet, but "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" made it clear that the pair has deep feelings for each other and a kiss can't be far behind.

Which is why Rupert Grint and Emma Watson top our list of Hollywood's Top Grossing On-Screen Couples. The "Harry Potter" movies, in which the pair star as Ron and Hermione, have earned a whopping $6.3 billion so far. And with a final film slated for next summer ("Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2") the franchise is on track to top $7 billion.

In Old Hollywood, couples like Spencer Tracy and Katharine Hepburn, and Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall, used to appear in multiple films together. These days, you pretty much only get on-screen couples appearing together in several films when they are attached to a franchise.

There are exceptions. Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet starred together in the second-highest-grossing film of all time: "Titanic." Then in 2008 they reunited to play a doomed suburban couple in the film "Revolutionary Road." Thanks to those two movies, the couple ranks fourth on our list with $1.9 billion. (Of that total, "Titanic" earned $1.84 billion.)

To formulate our list, we looked at couples who had appeared on screen together more than once in the last 10 years. We then added up the global box office for all of the films they starred in together. We did not include animated movies.

Ranking second behind Grint and Watson are Viggo Mortensen and Liv Tyler in the "Lord of the Rings" movies. Their romance provided a little something for the ladies who might have gotten bored watching a group of male hobbits carry a ring to Mordor. The franchise earned a total $3 billion at the global box office.

Close behind are Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" movies. While Johnny Depp staggered around as Captain Jack Sparrow, the couple made googly eyes at each other and provided an emotional heart for the first three movies. The franchise has so far earned $2.7 billion.

But evidently their romance was seen as superfluous compared with Depp and the series' great special effects: They've been cut out of the fourth movie. Instead look for Jack Sparrow to have some kind of romance with Penelope Cruz's Angelica in "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides," which hits theaters this summer.

Rounding out the top five are Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart in the "Twilight" movies. While romance might take a backseat to action in many of the movies on our list, it's the driving force in the "Twilight" films. It doesn't hurt that Pattinson and Stewart are also a couple in real life. So far the movies have earned $1.8 billion at the global box office. The last book, "Breaking Dawn," has been divided into two movies. The first will hit theaters this coming November.
