Google on Monday officially rolled out a version of its YouTube video-streaming site just for kids. The YouTube Kids app, available for free download on Android and iOS, contains family-friendly videos from children's favorites such as DreamWorks TV, Jim Henson TV, Mother Goose Club and Talking Tom and Friends.

It features channels and playlists in four categories: Shows, Music, Learning and Explore. The app's design features a big, brightly colored interface as well as parental controls, including a built-in timer that lets you limit your kids’ screen time.

YouTube Kids is the first Google product "built from the ground up with little ones in mind," Google said. "The app makes it safer and easier for children to find videos on topics they want to explore."
