'Tis the season for end-of-year roundups. Tuesday's list comes courtesy of YouTube, which collects the top 10 trending videos for an annual "rewind" each December.
Top honors for the 2014 list of videos (which must have been uploaded this year and took into account the videos' total views, likes and comments) went to a "giant mutant spider" prank, in which Polish YouTube trickster SA Wardega outfitted his dog in a spider costume.
The pup, looking like a giant tarantula, terrified bystanders with help from props SA set up. Two women stumble upon the "spider" eating a victim in an elevator. A guy who runs into fake body parts strung up by a giant web simply takes photos of the supposed gore -- until the mutant tarantula starts chasing him. Horrifying in person, of course, but hilarious for those of us safely ensconced behind our computer screens.
Rounding out the top 10 is a video decidedly different in tone: "10 Hours of Walking in NYC as a Woman," a PSA for anti-harassment group Hollaback that features a woman dealing with incessant catcalls. The video spawned scores of parodies, but it also came under fire for not including white men.
