Two teachers gave TODAY viewers an education on Tuesday about how fabulous being 60 and older can look.
The two women received Ambush Makeovers during a special week dedicated to transforming the looks of women 60 and over, in honor of Kathie Lee’s milestone birthday later this week.
First up was Diane Schatz-Peterson, 63, who recently retired and lost 90 pounds. She also purchased a new sports car, a Chevy Camaro, which played into why she was so excited about getting a makeover.
“I needed to have a change in the way I look when driving it,” she explained.
TODAY’s hairstylist to the stars Louis Licari added some shape to Schatz-Peterson’s short hair. He also covered her gray, which some people choose against, but can be crucial to taking years off their appearance.
“Oh my God, I don’t even look the same,” Schatz-Peterson said afterward.
Hair coloring also made a difference for Esther Martinez, the other makeover recipient.
The 66-year-old Texan had her wavy locks smoothed out. Licari also toned down the dark brown in her hair adding some softness to the color.
The transportation absolutely stunned her family, especially her husband, who was in tears when he saw his wife after the makeover.
“Marry me again!” he said.
