Although we can hardly believe that the comeback kid, Tom Brady, could ever be considered “old” to some people, the nine children who were welcomed to Gillette Stadium this past week didn’t have any problem meeting this (almost) 40-year-old NFL quarterback!
Brady spent time discussing past games, taking pictures and just getting to know the families that traveled from across the country to the home of the New England Patriots as a part of the Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island organization. Make-A-Wish is dedicated to creating special experiences for children with life-threatening medical conditions, and as the NFL MVP mentioned on social media, the day was a “privilege” for him as well.
The group got the chance to review past seasons and clips with Brady who explained the choice he typically has to make on the field as soon as he is in control of the ball: “This is like a hot potato, and you got to get it out of your hands as fast as you can!”
Tom Brady, showing he is not just a force on the football field, but also in his dedication to some of his biggest fans, was approached by a father who thanked him for being a part of his daughter’s recovery each day.
And for one young fan who got the chance to meet, “...[My] most favorite quarterback ever!,” we are sure there wasn’t much question of age this past Wednesday while dreams came true.
