Chicago’s Trump Tower penthouse has sold for $17 million, making it what is believed to be the city’s most expensive residential real estate transaction to date.
The 14,260-square-foot residence was last listed on Zillow for $32 million. According to the Chicago Tribune, local tech millionaire Sanjay Shah was in negotiations over the coveted penthouse for nearly two years and can now finally call the penthouse home.

Like many luxury homes, its biggest selling point is the view. Located on the 89th floor, the five-bedroom, eight-bath home offers a 360-degree view of the city and Lake Michigan.
Donald Trump originally intended for the building to be the tallest in the world but scaled back his plans after Sept. 11, 2001. The Willis Tower, formerly known as the Sears Tower, is the tallest building in Chicago at 1,451 feet. The Trump International Hotel and Tower is close behind at 1,389 feet.
Shah, founder and CEO of technology company Vistex, said in a press release that he plans to pour another $15 million into the penthouse to finish the space.
Coldwell Banker‘s Chezi Rafaeli represented Trump in the sale.
