Toss the cords! IKEA is creating furniture that charges your devices

Tired of dealing with cords when charging your phone or tablet? IKEA is revealing a new solution.

The Swedish home store is creating an upcoming furniture line of lamps, desks and tables that will charge mobile phones and tablets with charging hotspots. Simply put your gadget on the hotspot to get a battery charge without having to fuss with outlets and cords.

“The new collection is part of a long term commitment from IKEA to find new innovative solutions for a better life at home,” IKEA said in a press release. The technology is compatible with Samsung and Apple products. No word on the assembly time required for the furniture.

Expect to see the battery-boosting furniture in stores in mid-April 2015.
