Watch out, bank account! Pinterest to introduce a 'buy' button

Pinterest is about to become even more addicting.

Instead of just dreaming about the beautiful home decor items you've pinned, or searching everywhere for that perfect housewarming gift your friend posted on the popular website, users be able to take action right away by purchasing products through a "buy" icon.

The social network announced that later this summer, it will be adding buyable pins from brands like Macy's, Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom, that will allow users to get the product right from the lifestyle platform. You'll be able to spot the items you can purchase by the blue price on the pin. There will also be options to find different colors by swiping through and picking the one that's perfect for you.


"We're working with payment processors who've been protecting people's information for years," the site says, adding that Apple Pay or a credit card will be accepted as forms of payment. "When you pay with Apply Pay, it uses a device specific account number instead of your actual credit card number, so your device nor Apple Pay will send your actual card number to the seller."

While it's probably going to burn a hole in our wallets, it most certainly is going to make Pinterest sessions that much more fun.
