When we think of IKEA, we think of Billy bookcases, the store’s maze-like layout and meatballs galore.

What we don’t think of is the proper pronunciation of the store's name. After all, how hard could it be? “Eye-kee-ah,” right? Wrong!

An IKEA representative confirmed to TODAY that Americans, in fact, say the Swedish store’s name differently than its actual pronunciation. Get ready for IKEA 101!

The proper way to say IKEA is (drum roll, please): “ee-kay-uh.”
