Is that dated refrigerator in your kitchen an eyesore? Hold off on splurging on a new one with this DIY project from Elsie Larson and Emma Chapman's new book, "A Beautiful Mess, Happy Handmade Home: Painting, Crafting, and Decorating a Cheerful, More Inspiring Space." In it, the two bloggers dish out inexpensive DIY projects and tips to freshen up your home, including this one that can be done with only electrical tape, scissors and a free afternoon.

Supplies

  • White electrical tape
  • Scissors

1. Sketch out your pattern on a piece of paper. We created a design based on Turkish kilim rugs.

2. Starting with the designs on the top and bottom, begin to cut your tape strips and apply the tape to the fridge.

3. For a cleaner look, cover any areas that have tape ends with a finishing piece of tape.
