Donald Trump may have been throwing jabs at Rosie O’Donnell during the GOP debate last night, but the comedian can retreat from the presidential hopeful in her new home in West Palm Beach.
The vacation-ready manse backs right up to the Intracoastal Waterway, with a guest house and heated pool on 180 feet of waterfront. According to listing agent Steve Davis of Douglas Elliman Real Estate, it’s one of the largest waterfront lots in the area.
“It was subdivided originally but Rosie wanted the entire parcel, so we negotiated that,” he explained.
O’Donnell bought the place furnished for $5.275 million, which Davis says is a steal compared to the other side of the water. “It’s a tremendous value compared to Palm Beach, where a property like this would be in the $20 million range,” he said.
The 6-bedroom home has sold four times in the last 12 years, but the previous owner, an investor, did a massive renovation.
“Rosie fell in love with the house and the location,” Davis said.
He also pointed out how professionally she handled the sale, which isn’t surprising considering O’Donnell is a seasoned Florida buyer. She sold a Sarasota home in February, and owned a Star Island property before that.
The news comes on the heels of O’Donnell’s departure from “The View” earlier this year. It also comes after she reportedly listed her New Jersey estate for nearly $7 million.
