If you're hosting...

Bon Appetit’s new app offers recipes, technique videos, meal-planning and scheduling tips and all sorts of tools for the host (free, iTunes).

Set a welcoming tone just as guests arrive with the Thanksgiving Music Radio app, which has a variety of stations playing a list of holiday-appropriate music ($0.99, iTunes).

If you're traveling...

Want to keep an extra eye on your home while you're away? Turn your own computer into a security camera with iSentry. Launch the free app, point your machine’s camera to the area you want to monitor and look out for video or photo updates on any motion it picks up (free, iTunes).

Catch that flight! The MiFlight app tells you the approximate security line wait time at airports both international and domestic. It’s free, and has a good-looking interface to boot (free, iTunes).

For the day after...

If you’re braving Black Friday mania, don’t do it alone. The Black Friday app updated for 2014 helps you create a shopping list and plan your trip to find the best deals and know which stores are really worth the long line (free, Play.Google.com).
