‘American Hustle’ pool party home takes another price cut

There’s snow on the ground, but it feels like they’re somewhere exotic. Music is playing; he’s wearing aviators and a gold chain around his neck. That’s when he sees her walking along the edge of the pool.

It’s a magnetizing moment between Christian Bale and Amy Adams that sets the tone for the rest of “American Hustle.” The owner of the Boston home where the scene was filmed is also hoping the place is magnetizing to potential buyers.

The buyer of this Boston-area home gets some movie history along with the pool.

In addition to an indoor pool used in the Academy Award-nominated movie, the home has tennis courts, gorgeous landscaping, sparkling chandeliers, a carriage house and views of the Brookline Reservoir.

Located at 64 Dudley St, Brookline, MA 02445, the single-family residence is on the market for $4.999 million after two sizable price cuts.

“There is absolutely nothing wrong with the house. It’s really just an enticement to attract buyers because the owner really wants to sell,’’ said listing agent Siu Fu Lau of Boston Proper Real Estate.

Originally built in 1930 for a Standard Oil executive, the Georgian revival estate has since been renovated while preserving several period architectural details. The interior spans 9,581 square feet with seven bedrooms and six baths.

The home, featured in the movie "American Hustle," is listed for just under $5 million.

Using a mortgage calculator, the buyer can expect to pay around $19,120 a month, assuming 20 percent down on a 30-year fixed mortgage.
