A clean diet is the most important part of any fitness regimen. It's true. No matter how many times you go to the gym, or how many push-ups you can do, it just all comes down to a balance at the end of the day. If you have that balance, you'll be off to a great start.

These are the top 4 things I recommend for anyone to try incorporating into their diet.

1. Chocolate milk!

Want a great recovery drink after a hard workout? Try chocolate milk. Yes, believe it or not, this drink combines carbs, protein, and calcium.

2. An apple and peanut butter.

This is one of my favorite pre-workout snacks.

3. Water.

Drink half your bodyweight in ounces of water. And always drink before working out, rather than only drinking after, to avoid dehydrating.

4. Clean, whole foods.

Doing crunches won’t get you a six-pack. No, really. A clean diet combined with crunches will.
