Kelly Osbourne has been very open when it comes to the subject of her personal health and fitness.

Last year, she revealed that she underwent a gastric-sleeve procedure which helped her lose 85 pounds. And earlier this year, the reality TV star spoke candidly about relapsing with alcohol after four years of sobriety.

But the 37-year-old hasn’t invited anyone to speak about those topics on her behalf, and a message she recently shared to her Instagram stories makes it clear that she certainly doesn’t welcome speculation or commentary about her body in the pages of tabloids.

A screenshot of an email she received was posted to her Instagram account with the following caption: “This is what I deal with on a daily basis."

The email says that the National Enquirer “is preparing to publish a story which reports Kelly Osbourne has put on a tremendous amount of weight after slimming down significantly earlier this year.”

It goes on to state that the story “quotes sources who said the former Fashion Police star has been dealing with the stress of her relapse by eating and doctors who said the resulting weight gain has left her at high risk of contracting the COVID-19 virus.”

In closing, the email invites her to respond with a statement or comment to Enquirer's editor-in-chief Dan Dolan. TODAY has reached out to the National Enquirer and to Dan Dolan to verify the email and haven’t heard back. However, Osbourne's account suggested that her fans on social media could respond to the publication on her behalf.

“Feel free to email Dan and tell him what you think about them fat shaming me,” a slide on her Instagram story said. TODAY reached out to Osbourne for further comment on the email and did not immediately hear back.

In a second update, Osbourne's Instagram account went on to explain to her followers why the message was a particularly painful one for her now.

“This past year has been the hardest year of my life. I was compliantly and utterly broken. I am still putting myself back together again," the Instagram story said.

Osbourne's account ended the story with the only bit of news she felt was important in a conversation about her well-being.

“I am happy. I am healthy and that’s all that should matter.”
