Cardiac surgeon-turned-TV personality Dr. Mehmet Oz made a surprising confession about his eating habits while stopping by Megyn Kelly TODAY.

The author of the new book "Food Can Fix It: The Superfood Switch to Fight Fat, Defy Aging, and Eat Your Way Healthy," says he never noshes on post dinner confections. Ever.

"We never have dessert," he says.

The doctor, whose "The Dr. Oz Show" is now in its ninth season, brought his leftovers — corn! — with him Wednesday. He says eating healthy is a major focus of his ... and for very good reason. After all, you really are what you eat.

"My wife is a vegetarian. So I get vegetables. That’s all I get. Last night I had broccoli rabe and corn. She made this squash puree soup. We always have greens. Lisa makes great dressings," he says, referring to his wife, producer Lisa Oz.

Plus, he's no couch potato, meaning you won't catch Dr. Oz bingeing on TV while mindlessly shoveling down popcorn or chips.

"We don't eat after 7:30 ever. There is no TV in our kitchen. The phones are put away. There are no electronics. I ask my kids about current affairs. I don't just ask them about school," he says. "There's lot of things to talk about. There's a little debate."

More family time at the dinner table? We'll cheers to that! Bon appetit!
