This Valentine’s Day, Hooters wants to help you move on from your past relationships and bad break-ups. The restaurant chain is inviting patrons to destroy a photo of an ex-boyfriend or girlfriend in exchange for free chicken wings. “Revenge is best served with a side of chicken wings,” a company press release says.

As part of the restaurant chain’s “#ShredYourEx” promotion, now in its third year, patrons can shred a pic of their ex in any Hooters restaurant — or virtually, through the Hooters website — and get 10 free boneless wings with a purchase of 10 wings of any type.

“Most restaurants only cater to couples on Valentine’s Day," Carl Sweat, global chief marketing officer at Hooters of America, told TODAY Food by email. "At Hooters, we're also celebrating those looking for a little light-hearted catharsis — and free wings. #ShredYourEx is a great opportunity for singles and their friends to have fun and enjoy some wings and drinks this Valentine’s Day.

Once you’ve picked out the perfect photo of your ex, you can complete Hooters’ online #ShredYourEx quiz, which asks questions like how long you were together, how the break-up happened and how long it's been since you split. The site will then recommend the best way to destroy your image after uploading: bury it, shred it, burn it or dart it. A Hooters spokesperson told TODAY Food that of the 54,000 people who’ve gotten rid of their ex online to date, burning the image is the most popular option.

After your photo is gone for good, you’ll get a digital coupon for your free wings. Customers may also bring their photo to a Hooters on February 14, where staff will help you shred it.

While Hooters offers 17 sauces and dry rubs for your chicken wings, including smoked wings at half the calories of traditional Buffalo wings, we’re thinking you should opt for Caribbean Jerk' to keep with the theme.
