No matter what your holidays look like this year, there's one constant we can count on: cookies.
Whether you're making them for a cookie swap, Santa, a fun project with the kids or just a cozy night in, there's no shortage of reasons to whip up a batch of cookies during the holidays. But everyone has their favorite holiday cookie they return to every year: Some are staunch sugar cookie supporters, while others are Linzer loyalists.
Following our Bracketween challenge in October, and then our Sidesgiving challenge in November, it was time for another food fight: TODAY's Ultimate Holiday Cookie Bracket.
And the winner is … sugar cookie!
With 63% of over 10,000 votes, sugar cookie took the top title from shortbread.
"Of course!" said Hoda on Friday morning, in reaction to the news.
"That's just because it's easier to make," Al suggested.
"Al and I really had our hearts set on shortbread taking it," added Savannah.
"Shortbread is so much better," said Al. "You can take the easy way out and get those sliced cookies."
"That's right, baby!" Hoda responded, "Pillsbury! Slice 'em up!"
"It's cookies — you can't lose," said Savannah.
