The first time I had this style pizza was at Tony's in San Francisco. I instantly fell in love with the pillowy and yeasty dough topped with crispy cheese. This is a great entertaining dish because you can do all the prep in advance and just throw them in the oven to serve. Using this Detroit-style pan yields perfect results every time. I also serve this for parties with kids and let them make their own with a toppings bar.
The tri-tip is one of the most flavorful and versatile cuts of meat. Using a great dry rub paired with sweet caramelized onions and the unique heat of horseradish cream sauce make this a completely unique and fan favorite at any event. We first started making this as an afterthought because usually we had leftover tri-tip and the next day it was perfect to make a quick sandwich.
