P. Allen Smith’s ‘Garden’ recipes for soup, salad

Gardener and designer P. Allen Smith, called by The New York Times the “Martha Stewart of the South,” is branching out. He’s taking his expertise in growing fresh vegetables and applying it to the kitchen. In his first cookbook, “Seasonal Recipes From the Garden,” he releases 120 of his favorite Southern recipes. Here are two: lentil and leek soup and roasted sweet potato and feta salad.
