Lady O went vegan – that’s no meat , dairy or animal byproducts – for a week and got 378 of her staffers to do so as well.
"[People] are thinking about getting healthier... everybody's pooping more," she said about the challenge on Tuesday’s show.
Overall, the staff lost a collective 444 pounds – although there was also a gain of 84 pounds. One staffer says he lost 11 pounds over the course of the week.
Guided by vegan enthusiast and author Kathy Preston, Oprah says she could go “veganish” – meaning she could incorporate just a minimal amount of food derived from animals.
“I'm not ready to commit to the whole thing,” said the media mogul, who went vegan for 21 days in 2008. “This morning Stedman said no, he wanted to continue, and I said ‘go right ahead with yourself.’”
Oprah also declared that Harpo Studios would observe “meatless Mondays,” but she stressed that people who wanted to eat meat still could.
“Let’s try not to get sued for it,” she quipped.
