On TODAY All Day's "Saucy," Anthony Contrino whips up a meal to surprise his dad for Father's Day. First up, it's an easy but hearty bucatini dish called pasta al vino made with Italian sausage, artichokes and white wine. For dessert, he demonstrates how to roll rich chocolate and hazelnuts into a sweet "sausage."
This is one of those pantry staple dishes I created at the start of quarantine and now it's just something that I make all the time. The velvety white wine sauce with sausage and garlicky panko are both so good. Do not skimp on the topping! It will become your favorite new thing.
This recipe is an adaptation of a Christmas dessert made by my friend's grandmother who hails from Kassel, Germany. It takes awhile for the chocolate to set, but it's very easy to make ahead and only takes about 10 minutes of active time in the kitchen. If you're not a big chocolate-hazelnut fan, you can always swap in a different nut or some dried fruits.
