"Just because you're paying an A-list price doesn't mean you get an A-list product," Consumer Reports senior editor Tod Marks commented to ABC News. "Giada's is very inexpensive, balanced, fresh tasting, and had a buttery taste. Turns out it did have butter, and we loved it."

"It's all about the butter," Giada confirmed to Bites. "It is made with fresh tomatoes and basil and finished with butter."

According to the New York Post, Giada's sauce costs only 60 cents per serving -- less than half as much as the runner-up pasta sauce from Mario Batali. "I personally test them several times to make sure they are delicious," Giada told the Post.

Giada De Laurentiis Tomato Basil pasta sauce is sold exclusively at Target.
