1. Combine cocoa powder, heavy cream, whole milk, arborio rice and orange zest. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer, cover and cook for 20 minutes.

2. Whisk together egg yolks, whole eggs, sugar, vanilla and cinnamon. Temper hot liquid into egg mixture.

3. Add chocolate and whisk until melted completely.

4. Add 1 cup heavy cream, pour into casserole dish, add dates and bake in a water bath at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes.
