Gilt Groupe, the luxury flash-sale site, has finally brought its sale expertise to eager foodies. The newly-launched Gilt Taste – now in beta testing mode – shares appetizing deals on artisan products: everything from olive oil cake to handpicked star anise. Like a more upscale Foodzie, the online market also features celebrity chefs and acclaimed writers, including author Ruth Reichl, who serves as editorial advisor.
To mark Bastille Day on July 14, haute-cuisine chef Daniel Boulud is guest-curating the tasty site, which means French game recipes, stories and oddly helpful cooking tips and observations ("Pigs' feet have a lot of bones" Melissa Clark writes in "10 Things I Learned from Daniel Boulud").
