HACK #1: APPLE SLICE DONUTS
Using a sharp knife, cut an apple crosswise into 1/2-inch-thick slices. Using a small round cutter, cut out the center core. Using an offset spatula, generously spread the apple slice with your favorite icing and decorate with sprinkles.
HACK #2: SERIOUSLY FAST GUACAMOLE
Put a baking rack with a crosshatch pattern over a large serving bowl. Using a sharp knife, cut the avocados in half lengthwise and remove the pit. Work with one avocado half at a time: Press the avocado cut side down on the rack so that the fruit falls right in the bowl. Fold in fresh lime juice and season with salt. If you'd like, fold in chopped cilantro and pickled jalapeno, too.
