"The Voice" contestants who lean toward country tunes are going to want to really impress coach Blake Shelton during their blind auditions. That's because not only will the members of Team Blake get to work with the country superstar, they'll also get advice from Little Big Town. NBC announced Thursday that the Grammy-winning country quartet will be the mentors for Shelton's team in season seven.
"It's a huge honor," LBT's Kimberly Schlapman told Access Hollywood. "We love the show. We have always watched it."
"I mean, if you are a country music fan, you already love them," Shelton told AH of the group, which also includes Karen Fairchild, Phillip Sweet and Jimi Westbrook. "But if you are not necessarily someone who listens to country radio all the time, you are gonna find out who they are, and it's gonna be a big deal."
Shelton isn't the only coach to have an award-winning performer or two to mentor his team. Earlier this week, it was revealed that the mentor for new coach Gwen Stefani's team will be none other than her husband and Bush frontman, Gavin Rossdale.
Adam Levine snagged the legendary Stevie Nicks for his team.
The mentor for new coach Pharrell Williams' team has not yet been announced.
"The Voice" kicks off season seven on Sept. 22 at 8 p.m. on NBC.
