George Clooney wasn't in the audience at the Golden Globe Awards last Sunday, but that didn't stop co-host Tina Fey from delivering one of the best jokes of the night at his expense.
While mentioning in the opening monologue that "Gravity" was nominated for best film, Fey said, "It's the story of how George Clooney would rather float away into space and die than spend one more minute with a woman his own age."
During an interview Friday with Access Hollywood's Billy Bush and Kit Hoover, Clooney put Fey, and her co-hosting pal Amy Poehler, on notice.
"It's a well-crafted joke. I can appreciate that," Clooney said. "But, they have poked the bear with a stick. Oh, they have poked the bear."
Bush made the point that Clooney should be able to defend himself against Fey's joke because he has in fact dated plenty of women his own age.
Laughing, Clooney said, "I think that .... there is no defense. It was a really good joke."
